The Quality Engineer will support the Quality Manager and assist strengthening the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance, reducing cost of poor quality, and driving continual improvement across all processes. Candidates with aerospace or pharmaceutical backgrounds will be particularly well-suited to this position. Experience with PPAP and APQP is advantageous but not essential.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist to maintain and improve the ISO 9001 QMS.
Conduct and report on internal and audits.
Ensure customer, statutory, and regulatory requirements are met.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective action (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone).
Monitor closure and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
Support new product introduction, including APQP and PPAP where required.
Analyse quality performance data (COPQ, scrap, complaints, supplier KPIs).
Support continuous improvement initiatives.
Job requirements
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ISO 9001 Internal Auditor qualification (essential).
Knowledge of QMS principles, auditing, and compliance.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret technical drawings/specifications.
Analytical, detail-oriented, and organised.
Effective communicator across all levels.
Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP system proficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS
Proven Quality Engineering experience in a regulated environment.
Aerospace or pharmaceutical background advantageous although not essential.
Experience with PPAP and APQP is desirable but not essential.
Lean, Six Sigma, or structured problem-solving training are advantageous.
